2. Important Medical and Crisis Disclaimer

The Website is for general information and education only. Nothing on the Website, including articles, quotes, tips, strategies, posters, comments or links, is medical, psychological, psychiatric, legal or other professional advice, or a diagnosis or treatment plan. • Always seek the advice of a qualified physician, psychologist, counselor or other licensed health professional about any condition or treatment.
  • Never disregard professional advice, or delay seeking it, because of something you read on the Website.
  • Do not stop, start or change any medication or treatment based on our content.

4. Use of the Website

You agree to use the Website only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:

  • violate any applicable law or regulation;
  • copy, scrape, harvest or republish Website content at scale, or use automated tools (bots, crawlers) in a way that burdens or disrupts the Website, except for ordinary search engine indexing;

6. Guest Posts, Sponsored Content and Contributor Submissions

The Website accepts contributions through our “Write For Us” page. If you submit an article, image or other material (a “Submission”):

  • you confirm that the Submission is your original work, does not infringe any third party’s rights, and is not defamatory, misleading or unlawful;
  • you grant The Good Mental a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual license to publish, edit, adapt, reproduce, distribute and promote the Submission on the Website and in related channels (such as newsletters and social media), with attribution where reasonably practicable;
  • we may edit, decline, remove or unpublish any Submission at our sole discretion, and acceptance of a pitch is not a guarantee of publication;
  • unless we agree otherwise in writing, contributors are not paid, and we do not guarantee any particular placement, links or timing;
  • we may apply “nofollow” or “sponsored” attributes to links, and may remove or change links we consider promotional, irrelevant or unsafe.

Contributors who write about health topics must not present personal opinion as clinical fact, and must disclose any commercial or professional relationship relevant to their Submission.

Sponsored and paid content. We accept paid or sponsored content, as described on our Write For Us page. Sponsored posts and paid links may be labeled “sponsored” or “advertisement”, or carry a “sponsored” or “nofollow” link attribute, as required by applicable law and search engine guidelines.

  • Payment does not guarantee publication, or any particular ranking, placement or duration.
  • We may decline, edit, relabel or remove paid content at any time, for example if it is misleading, unsafe, makes unproven health claims, or does not meet our editorial standards.
  • Fees, payment terms and turnaround are those stated on the Write For Us page or agreed with you in writing. Unless we agree otherwise in writing, fees are non-refundable once the content is published.
  • Sponsors are solely responsible for the accuracy and legality of their content and claims, including any health or treatment claims. Paid content is not our endorsement of the sponsor or its products.

7. Comments and User Content

Where the Website allows comments or other user contributions (“User Content”), you are solely responsible for what you post. By posting User Content you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display, store and reproduce it on the Website.

We may moderate, edit or remove User Content at any time and for any reason, including content that is abusive, spammy, promotional, off-topic, or that contains personal or medical information about you or others. Please do not post private details, such as your full name, address or health records, or detailed accounts of self-harm. We do not endorse any User Content, and views expressed by commenters are theirs alone.

8. Third-Party Links, Advertising and Affiliate Content

The Website contains links to third-party websites and services, including online courses offered by third parties, social media platforms, and advertisements. Some links or banners may be sponsored, or may earn us a commission or fee if you click or make a purchase, at no extra cost to you.

We do not control, review or endorse third-party websites, products, courses or services, and we are not responsible for their content, accuracy, privacy practices or availability. Any dealings you have with third parties are solely between you and them, and are governed by their own terms and policies. Please review those before relying on them or making a purchase.

9. Accuracy of Information

We aim to provide accurate, helpful and up-to-date content, but mental health knowledge changes quickly and we make no warranty that the Content is complete, current or error-free. Articles are dated, and older content may no longer reflect current research or guidelines. Statistics, quotes and references are provided for general information, and you should verify anything important with a qualified professional or the original source.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Website and all Content are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Website will be uninterrupted, secure or free of errors or harmful components.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Good Mental and its owners, editors, authors, contributors, affiliates and service providers will not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of (or inability to use) the Website, reliance on any Content, or any third-party website or service linked from the Website, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so some of the above may not apply to you.

12. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless The Good Mental and its owners, editors, contributors and service providers from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your breach of these Terms, your User Content or Submissions, or your misuse of the Website.

13. Privacy, Cookies and Analytics

Your use of the Website is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect and use personal information. The Website uses cookies and similar technologies, including analytics and tag management tools and social media integrations, to operate, measure and improve the Website and to serve advertising. By continuing to use the Website, you consent to their use as described in the Privacy Policy, subject to any choices available to you under applicable law.

If you sign up for updates, you consent to receive emails from us and can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any message.

14. Changes to the Website and to These Terms

We may modify, suspend or discontinue any part of the Website at any time without notice. We may also update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date above, and in the case of material changes we will take reasonable steps to notify you (for example, by a notice on the Website). Your continued use of the Website after changes take effect means you accept the revised Terms.

15. Termination

We may restrict or terminate your access to the Website, or remove your contributions, at any time and without notice if we believe you have breached these Terms or are misusing the Website. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability and indemnification) will continue to apply.

16. Copyright Complaints

If you believe that material on the Website infringes your copyright, please email us at admin@thegoodmental.com with: a description of the work you claim is infringed; the URL of the allegedly infringing material; your name and contact details; a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized; and a statement that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the rights holder or authorized to act for them. We will review and respond promptly.

17. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the Website will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the State of Delaware, USA, except where applicable law gives you the right to bring proceedings in your country of residence. Before starting any formal proceeding, you agree to follow the informal dispute process below.

Informal dispute process. Most concerns can be resolved quickly and without lawyers. If you have a dispute or complaint about the Website, its Content or these Terms:

  1. Email us at admin@thegoodmental.com with “Dispute” in the subject line, describing the issue and the outcome you are seeking.
  2. We will acknowledge your message within 10 business days and work with you in good faith to resolve it.
  3. If it is not resolved within 30 days of our acknowledgment, either of us may pursue the other remedies available under these Terms and applicable law, including a claim in the courts described above.

This process does not stop either of us from seeking urgent court relief (for example, to stop copyright infringement or misuse of the Website), or stop you from contacting a consumer protection or data protection authority.

  • Entire agreement: These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Website.
  • Severability: If any provision is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in effect.
